About AIM-E
Enterprise AI Strategy — From a Practitioner, Not a Theorist
AIM-E was founded by James Barnebee to solve a problem he kept seeing in the enterprise: organizations spending millions on AI initiatives built on vendor hype instead of architectural reality. After 20+ years of enterprise architecture, 10 AI/ML patents, and hands-on work with IBM Watson, Jim built AIM-E to deliver practical AI strategy to organizations that need results, not slide decks.
Who We Work With
We serve enterprise leaders, government agencies, and mid-market companies navigating AI adoption. Our clients are CTOs, CIOs, and program managers who need someone who has actually built and deployed AI systems at scale — not someone who read about it in a blog post.
Our SDVOSB (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business) certification means we meet the compliance and procurement requirements for federal contracting, and our CAGE, DUNS, and SAM registrations are current and active.
What We Do
Fractional CTO & Chief Architect Services — We embed with your leadership team part-time to provide senior technology and architecture leadership without the full-time executive cost. We currently serve multiple organizations simultaneously in fractional CTO and chief architect roles, leading AI strategy, enterprise architecture, vendor evaluation, team mentoring, and board-level technology reporting. This model gives you experienced senior leadership at a fraction of the cost of a full-time hire, with the breadth of perspective that comes from working across multiple industries and problem sets.
AI Program Management — We take your AI initiative from concept through deployment. Requirements gathering, vendor selection, architecture design, compliance readiness, implementation oversight, and post-deployment optimization.
AI Strategy & Roadmap Development — We build actionable AI roadmaps grounded in your actual infrastructure, budget, and organizational readiness — not generic frameworks. Every recommendation comes with a business case, risk assessment, and implementation timeline.
How We Engage
Our engagement follows a proven four-step process:
1. Discovery & Scope — We assess where you are today: current technology stack, team capabilities, data readiness, and organizational goals. We define what success looks like and scope the engagement to match.
2. Design & Compliance Readiness — We design the AI architecture and implementation plan. For government and regulated clients, compliance requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA, HIPAA, GDPR, EU AI Act) are built into the design from day one, not bolted on later.
3. Build & Integrate — We oversee implementation, working with your internal teams or preferred vendors. We don’t just hand over a document and walk away — we stay involved through deployment.
4. Deploy & Support — We validate the deployment, ensure knowledge transfer to your team, and provide post-launch support to handle the issues that always surface in the first 90 days.
